Andrew Torrington
Co-Founder, Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer
Andrew Torrington is the Co-Founder, Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Woodbridge, overseeing the firm’s investment strategy, portfolio management, investor relations and overall business operations.
Andrew has over 30 years of experience across real estate investment, development, construction, and property finance in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. He is a proven leader and skilled dealmaker, known for driving strategic outcomes and building high-performing businesses.
Before co-founding Woodbridge, Andrew was Managing Director at Merricks Capital, where he led the growth of the firm’s real estate debt platform, deploying over $4 billion in senior secured loans over five years. He was responsible for investment strategy, capital allocation, origination, execution, investor relations, and ongoing portfolio management. Andrew also served as Chairman of the Credit Committee and was a Group Director.
Prior to this Andrew spent three years with leading construction firms Kajima Icon and Probuild, serving as COO and Group Director at Probuild, where he oversaw business operations, corporate functions, and led a strategic review of the business.
Prior to that Andrew spent five years as CEO of The Pacific Group of Companies, a prominent Australian ultra-high-net-worth family office. He was responsible for overseeing the group’s real estate interests, including investment, ownership, and financing activities. During his tenure, he led a significant restructuring and corporatisation of the business in close partnership with the Alter family.
Prior to this Andrew served as CEO of ASX-listed Verticon Group for five years, where he was responsible for leading the company’s operations across Australia and New Zealand in a construction services business. During his tenure, he led a strategic restructure of the business and successfully executed its sale.
Prior to that Andrew spent a decade with construction firm Multiplex, where he held a range of executive roles across strategy, finance, technology and operations. As a Group Director, he played a pivotal role in growing the construction and development divisions, including three years in London establishing Multiplex’s European operations, and was actively involved in the company’s IPO in 2003.
Andrew holds a Master of Business (MBA) and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree.
